About/Contact

I’m a 20-something music fan who, in the last couple years, has rediscovered her love of books. I can often be found with headphones on and my nose in a book, happy in my own little world. I love going to concerts, but am just as happy spending a quiet evening at home reading or hanging out with my hubby.

I mostly read literary fiction, chick lit, YA, and classics, but am open to trying just about anything, at least once.

As for music, I tend to shy away from mainstream, gravitating more towards indie rock and indie pop.

The purpose of this blog is primarily to talk about books, but expect music talk to seep in here and there!

Want to talk books or music? Contact me at alitareads[at]gmail[dot]com

I will not be accepting any books for review for the foreseeable future I am currently not accepting many books for review, but will accept some. All other books discussed on alita.reads. are those I’ve bought, borrowed, or were given as gifts. Please see my REVIEW POLICY for more information.

Any music featured on alita.reads. is included because I honestly truly enjoy it and not for any promotional purposes.

    Hi,

Thanks for visiting my blog! Yours is pretty snazzy. How often do you read/review young adult literature?

Thanks for visiting! I haven’t read too much YA literature in the past, but I’m starting to get into it more. And I review/share my thoughts on pretty much everything I read :)

Hi Alita, it was really nice of you to visit me. I am a reader too but it didn’t really occur to me to look for reading blogs. You’ve opened my eyes to all sorts of possibilities. I really like what you are doing and I will be visiting again. Tracy

so I was wondering: is Alita your birth name, or did you choose it as a reference to the japanese comic book?

Hi! Thanks so much for your comment and for being a fan of my blog! I’m sort of a spaz at blogging so I think you’re my first “fan” who’s not like a friend I forced to read haha. Yay, thanks! I am loving your reading lists – so impressive! I’m currently reading Lev Grossman’s Magicians books (The Magicians & The Magician King) – they’re sort of Harry Potter for grownups. Loving! They won’t make up for missing opening weekend (how DARE your bro-in-law!) but are super fun reads!
