Weekly Round Up (07.29.12)

July 29, 2012

These were my 5 most listened to tunes from the last week, according to last.fm:

1. What You Know by Two Door Cinema Club
2. Broken Brights by Angus Stone
3. Wooden Chair by Angus Stone
4. Blindsided by Bon Iver
5. Anna Sun by Walk the Moon

This past week I discovered, or at least rediscovered, The Glitter Pox – a music blog that seems to be very closely aligned to my music tastes. If you are looking for new tunes, I highly recommend checking these ladies out. They post a new song every Tuesday and Thursday and I’m looking forward to discovering tons of new music through them. They’ve already introduced me to Walk the Moon and “Anna Sun” is already one of my new favourite summertime tunes.

Mailbox Monday is a weekly event hosted in July by Jennifer Q @ Mrs. Q Book Addict.

I added two books to my collection last week:

The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins (I got to work on Monday morning and the internet was down, so I took advantage of the downtime to run some errands. Which of course included a stop at the indie bookstore close to my office.)
A Case for Solomon by Tal McThenia and Margaret Dunbar Cutright (Thanks, Simon & Schuster!)

“It’s Monday What Are You Reading” is a weekly event hosted by Sheila that lets you share books you’ve read over the past week and books you have coming up.

Finished:
Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo (SO GOOD!)
Brava, Valentine by Adriana Trigiani

Posted:
The Bellwether Revivals by Benjamin Wood

Currently Reading:
Paper Towns by John Green (re-read)
The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman
Naked Heat by Richard Castle

Up Next: I think I’m going to go with Good Girls Revolt by Lynn Povich next.

What are you reading and listening to? Did any new books find their way into your possession?

Those Castle books are a fun diversion. My favorite read last week was Hereville: How Mirka Met a Meteorite by Barry Deutsch which I read via NetGalley. Please come see what else I’m reading.
