Monday Round Up (03.28.11)

March 27, 2011

These were my 5 most listened to tunes from the last week:

1. Squealing Pigs by Admiral Fallow (Cannot get enough of this song. Makes me want to dance a jig.)
2. Do You Love Me by Guster (This is “Spring Time Sun Is Shining Everything Is Happy” music to me.)
3. Subbuteo by Admiral Fallow
4. Dead Against Smoking by Admiral Fallow
5. Daylight by Matt & Kim (This song and video are nothing but pure fun. Always makes me smile)

Thanks to everyone who left music suggestions last week. And thanks to Ana for introducing me to my new obsession, Admiral Fallow. I’m still on the hunt for new tunes, so if you have any recommendations let me know! I’ve also decided to start taking advantage of those free iTunes download cards at Starbucks. Last week the pick was Dots on Maps by Say Hi. I’m quite liking it :) I’ll let you know how future picks rate.

“It’s Monday What Are You Reading” is a weekly event hosted by Sheila that lets you share books you’ve read over the past week and books you have coming up.

Finished: Nothing :( I was sick for the first part of the week and sadly not in the mood for reading. But definitely in the mood for TV-watching. Everything from How I Met Your Mother to Firefly to 1995 Pride & Prejudice took up a good portion of my time.

Rampant & Ascendant by Diana Peterfreund (final thoughts)
Soundtrack Saturday: The Secret Diaries of Charlotte Bronte by Syrie James

Currently Reading: The Secret Diaries of Charlotte Bronte by Syrie James. It took a few days for me to get into this book, partly from being under the weather. But I think also had to do with going from Charlotte Bronte’s actual writing to an imitation of it. It felt a little bit awkward at first, but now I’m really getting into the story and enjoying the book.

Up Next: The Secret Diaries… is still going to take a bit of time to finish. After that, I have no plans, no obligations, so it’s off to the TBR pile I go.

What are you reading and listening to? Did any new books find their way into your possession?

I understand how that goes with reading and being sick. Sounds like you had some TV viewing time. Firefly and P&P!!!!

Hm, trying to think of more suggestions…do you know Ingrid Michaelson? If you like girl-and-guitar type music, check her out. “The Way I Am” is the best known of her songs, I think.

I’m glad you found some new music that you love — that’s always so exciting!
