Soundtrack Saturday – Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

Soundtrack Saturdays an opportunity to share a song I think would fit on the soundtrack for the book I’m currently reading.

Feel free to join in! Either leave your soundtrack pick or the link to your soundtrack post in the comments.

From the publisher’s website:
Jane Eyre is an orphan grown up under the harsh regime first of her aunt and then as a pupil at Lowood Institution. She leaves to become a governess to the daughter of the mysterious Mr Rochester; gradually their relationship deepens, but Jane’s passionate nature has yet to endure its deepest blows.

Soundtrack Song: “Do The Right Thing” by The Dudes
This song is a fun look at where Mr. Rochester’s at when he first meets and gets to know Jane. He’s grown tired of the playboy life and believes he was born better than that. He’s hoping Jane’s help he can strive to be better than his past. The song also uses a bit of the light/fire theme that is all over Jane Eyre.

And now my carnal sins have gotten to be so boring…

My heart’s wide open, I sure was hoping you could close it down..

And you strike me like gas and ligtning
Love me, don’t just spend the night
You can’t count on me to do the right thing
And help me do the right thing

What song would you add to the soundtrack for this book or the one you’re currently reading?
