Soundtrack Saturday – Flawless by Sara Shepard

Soundtrack Saturdays is a little thing where I share a song with you that I think would fit on the soundtrack for the book I’m currently reading. If you’d like to join in, please either leave your soundtrack pick or the link to your soundtrack post in the comments.

Current Read: Flawless by Sara Shepard

One Sentence Summery: Can Aria, Emily, Hanna, and Spencer figure out the identity of A before A divulges their deepest, darkest secrets?

Soundtrack Song: “Okay I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don’t” by Brand New, from the album Deja Entendu.

Why I chose this song: Aria, Emily, Hanna, and Spencer are all freaking out about what A knows. Looking over their shoulders, wondering who has their eye on them. Trying to appear that everything is under control, although the facade is crumbling. Hoping against hope that their secrets don’t get out. True, the lyrics of this song don’t all fit perfectly with the book, but it still fits with the uneasiness the girls are feeling and the fake confidence they’re trying to exude.

Holding on to your grudge,
Oh it’s so hard to have someone to love.
Keeping quiet is hard,
‘Cause you can’t keep a secret if it never was as secret to start.
At least pretend you didn’t wanna get caught.

We’re concentrating on falling apart.
We were contenders, we’re throwing the fight.
But I just wanna believe, I just wanna believe,
I just wanna believe in us.

What song would you add to the soundtrack for this book or the one you’re currently reading?
