Teaser Tuesday (03.02.10)

teasertuesdays31Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly event hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading. It’s easy enough to play along, just follow the Teaser Tuesdays link for rules.

Today’s teaser comes from Angels by Marian Keyes. Yes, I went way over the two sentence limit.

As I filled a bucket with floor cleaner and water, Emily sighed, ‘Thanks. Conchita is coming on Monday. I like to have things nice for her.’
‘Who’s Conchita?’
‘My cleaning lady. Comes every fortnight. Goes mad if the place isn’t clean.’ (p. 219)

Of course, that makes total sense, doesn’t it?!

Funny how most people clean up before…What a fun teaser! I hope you enjoy your reading week..

Clean up before the housekeeper arrives? Defeats the purpose lol But then again, I’d probably do the same if I’ve known my housekeeper for years :)

I love Marian Keyes’s books. My teaser is from the first Nancy Drew mystery.

Haha. That reminds me of when I was a child. My parents always told me I had to clean my room before the cleaner came. Always confused me!

Haha, this is a great teaser! I haven’t read anything by Keyes, but I know I should really change that. My teaser is at The Crowded Leaf.

  19. March 2, 2010 6:11 am

That’s funny – and in my case very close to the truth (back when I had a cleaning lady a couple times/month – but those days are over *sigh*)

  20. March 2, 2010 6:29 am

*LOL!* That cleaning lady would run screaming if she ever set foot in my house. :-)

Too funny and I know people that run around cleaning like that before they come. I have read Keyes, This Charming Man, and liked it.
