Soundtrack Saturday – Labour Day
Current Read: Labour Day by Joyce Maynard
One Sentence Summary: The lives of Henry and his mom, Adele, are thrown for a loop after they meet Frank, an escaped convict.
Soundtrack Song: “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” by Frank Sinatra
Why I chose this song: Adele, a former dancer, loves Frank Sinatra. Other than show tunes, he’s one of the main singers Henry has grown up listening to. I can imagine Adele and Frank (the convict) dancing to this on a warm evening during the Labour Day weekend. Plus the lyrics capture the connection between Adele and Frank perfectly.
What song would you add to the soundtrack for Labour Day or the book you’re currently reading?
